A curated calendar for European ultra-distance runners.
Ultra Radar tracks the ultramarathons across Europe that are worth building a season around — from volcanic island crossings in the Canaries to the high passes of the Alps and Pyrenees, the karst plateaus of the Balkans, and the primeval forests of eastern Poland. Instead of trying to list every registered ultra on the continent, we curate: each race on the calendar earns its place because of its scenery, its history, its logistics, or the kind of challenge it offers.
Who’s behind it
Ultra Radar is run by Marcin, an engineer based near Lisbon, Portugal, who trains for and races ultramarathons himself (you can follow the training and race reports at @ultra.tata). The site grew out of a simple frustration: there was no single, clear, English-language place to see what European ultra season actually looks like month by month.
How the calendar is built
Race dates, distances and elevation figures are researched from official race websites, established running-media coverage, and race registries, then cross-checked before publishing. Many organisers only confirm exact 2027 dates closer to the season, so several entries are marked (tentative) until confirmed — always verify exact dates and entry requirements directly with the race organiser before booking travel or accommodation.
The calendar is reviewed and expanded on an ongoing basis to fix errors, add newly discovered races, and keep dates current.
